CHURCH LIFE
Souper Bowl Sunday: Waverly has a tradition going back many years of commemorating the Big Game by collecting donations of non-perishable food (and money!) for Mainspring, a food bank and social service agency serving Southeast Portland and beyond. We began by trying to match in food the weight of the game’s heaviest player (in the 350 lb. range), then trying to match the two heaviest players, and this year setting a goal of collecting 1,000 pounds of food. Money is accepted as well at a rate of $1.00 = 1 pound of food. Make checks payable to Waverly Heights UCC and reference Mainspring on the memo line.
Waverly Ukes: Meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 6:00 PM in Hyde Hall. New members are always welcome!
Church Council February meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 25 in Hyde Hall from 7:00 – 8:30. This meeting has been moved from its regular third-Wednesday time slot because it coincides with Ash Wednesday.

The Waverly community continues to support the work of Hygiene4All by sharing clothing, gently warn or warn but wearable, with the unhoused community of Portland’s Central Eastside.
